AUSTRALIAN AGE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024

Congratulations to Mosman Swim Club for the successful Australian Age Championships 2024, Sally, Kate and Coach Quentin achieved great results.

Kate placed 45th in 50 Free with time (28.67)

Sally placed 15th in 50 Free with time (27.58), 40th in 100 Fly (1.08.36) and 9th in 50 Fly (29.22).

We are so proud and cannot wait for what the next season will bring.

NSW SENIOR METROPOLITAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024

A big congratulations to our medalist, Sally Fainga’anuku, for bringing in the gold last month at the NSW Senior Metropolitan Championships in the 50m Fly, 14 Years Old.

She also classed in the Top 10 for 100m Freestyle (8th), 100m Fly (5th), 50m Freestyle (7th).

Congratulations also must got to all swimmers who were part of the meet representing the Mosman Swim Club: Kate, Jasmin, Utsav, Dominik, Aurelius, Ryan, and Lorenzo.

We can’t wait to see what you all achieve next in the pool!

2023 SMNE LC Summer Championships

During early November a team of 38 swimmers from the Mosman Swim Club participated in the 2023 SMNE LC Summer Championships!

Overall Mosman Swim club placed 5th with 1574 Points for 23 medals. This was a massive improvement from last year when the swim club placed 9th with 482 Points 10 medals.

This month we were faced with the challenge of the Metropolitan Championships!

The following are a few special highlight results from the championships:

  • Sally Fainga’anuku break 30 sec on 50 Butterfly Open 29.95 coming 21th Overall

  • Elizabeth Fainga’anuku 6 sec PB on 100 Butterfly to 1.12.83 coming 11th 12 years Old

In addition to this we’d like to congratulate all 32 swimmers who were recently announced on the 2022/23 JX list for the Australian Junior Excellence Program.

‘Swimming Australia’s Junior Excellence (JX) program recognises the performances of swimmers aged 9 – 13 to encourage and inspire the next generation of competitive swimmers’, states the Swim Aus website.

SMNE (Sydney Metro North East) Winter Championships.

This month we had 32 swimmers compete in the SMNE (Sydney Metro North East) Winter Championships. The championships were held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of June.

We are excited to announce that Penelope Currie placed 2nd in the 50m freestyle 11 years old heat. A fantastic effort by Penelope!

A special mention to the following swimmers who placed 4th:

  • Elizabeth Fainga’anuku – 100m Freestyles 12 years old girls.

  • Alexandra Bova – 50m Backstroke 11 years old girls.

During late March many of our swimmers attended and competed in the 2023 NSW Junior State Age Championships.

Throughout the weekend we had a total of seven swimmers compete, and had one swimmer finish three times in the top 10!

Elizabeth Fainga’anuku had plenty of success on the day, the following a a few highlights of her results:

  • 50m Backstroke 11 year old came 8th

  • Relay Medley 10-11 years old came 10th

  • Relay Freestyle 10×50 girls came 10th

The Relay Medley 10-11 years old team consisted of Emma Woods, Sophie Watson, Elizabeth Fainga’anuku and Penelope Currie. Overall our team is incredibly proud of all of the swimmers who attended. We cannot wait to see what you achieve next!
